CECILIA DARLING
FOR
VPSE
LETTER TO HURON
My name is Cecilia Darling, and I am a first year student pursuing a bachelor of management and organizational studies degree. I have always been passionate about making a positive impact and being involved in my community, and instantly felt at home as I learned that those were values rooted in this university. The unique, vibrant, and welcoming community Huron has to offer is what makes the student experience here truly like no other, and my platform aims to continue to enhance that. I am excited about the opportunity to create a memorable campus experience and display my innovative thinking and creative leadership in the role of Vice President of Student Events.
This year, I was able to serve as a Social Events Commissioner on HUCSC’s events portfolio. Through this amazing experience, I gained an understanding of how to thrive in the role, incorporate student voice, and ensure successful and unforgettable events, and I am confident, through my platform, students will see that I am the candidate to do so.
Alongside my enthusiastic approach to this position, I possess the practical skills that will be the foundation of my work as an executive member that will allow me to bring these visions to life. I have experience in planning, organizing, and managing events and am devoted to advocating for student voice and being a proactive leader who seeks feedback and adapts to incorporate diversity and inclusivity. I have been able to create a framework that compiles valuable feedback through student and campus leader consultations ensuring our collective voices shape the direction of my platform.
With your support, we can turn a page to a chapter where our campus story is written by students, where there is something for everyone. I am passionate about building a community where your ideas shape our events, where our campus thrives, and the 2024-25 year is memorable.
Sincerely,
Cecilia Darling

While building my platform, I have had student voice and advocacy at the forefront. It is my mission to incorporate what students want to see in their campus experience going forward, and incorporate an innovative approach to Huron events. This is an constantly changing document, and I will continue to include new ideas and perspectives. Vote Cecilia for VPSE. Your Voice, Your Events!
